Diari de Tarragona chooses the MILENIUM Cross Media to improve advertising management and organisation
The solution will increase business profitability and will lead to a more efficient use of available resources. The QUAY suite (based on TEXTML Server) makes it possible to archive and republish content in different formats.2006-05-23Diari de Tarragona has purchased Protec’s MILENIUM Cross Media. This is the leading regional newspaper in the province of Tarragona, publishing two editions from six editorial offices. Thanks to the innovative communication protocol for low speed LSO lines developed by Protec, and used in all its applications, the reporters in Diari de Tarragona’s various offices will be able to work on a single database, , efficiently and remotely, through low bandwidth lines. This makes the journalists’ work significantly easier, allowing them to view and edit from any remote location through the Internet and in WYSIWYG mode, as if they were in the newspaper’s head office. The remote reporter access will also allow Diari de Tarragona to extend its editorial deadline to improve the quality of the information, while significantly reducing communication costs.
In addition to this, the MILENIUM Cross Media environment used by Diari de Tarragona will enable the newspaper to integrate in a single workflow its contracting, management and archiving of advertising with its content management and production. This will lead to cost savings as well as a more efficient use of resources. These advantages have significantly contributed to the feasibility of the project.
Another reason why Diari de Tarragona has chosen the Protec application is the QUAY corporate multimedia archive (based on IXIASOFT's TEXTML Server). This will allow the newspaper to store content, for possible future remarketing. Furthermore, the multimedia archive enables publishing of content in non-paper media.
More than 50 employees at Diari de Tarragona will have Protec applications installed. Promicsa owns the publication.
