Based on the Eclipse environment, the DITA CMS is an innovative component content management solution addressing the unique challenges of technical documentation management.

100% DITA support
Designed specifically for the production and management of DITA content, the DITA CMS does not use any proprietary processes. It manages links, reuse and applicability according to DITA specifications. Moreover, because the CMS is based on IXIASOFT’s TEXTML Server, a world renowned native XML database, support for DITA specializations is seamless.

Authoring
Out-of-the-box, the CMS provides integrations with XML authoring tools such as XMetaL (WYSIWYG) and Oxygen. The authoring environment is directly integrated within the CMS interface enabling users to work from a single UI increasing usability and user satisfaction.

The CMS also offers an advanced DITA Map editor with drag and drop support for easy map creation and management. The DITA Map editor not only allows access to content but also allows users to access project management functionalities.

The "Collaborative Reviewer" is another crucial component of the DITA CMS enabling better team collaboration. This sophisticated PDF-based review tool allows reviewers to easily annotate topics, images and the entire content of maps. The tool also allows reviewers to vote for approval.

Localization

Multi-format publishing
The DITA CMS includes an Output Generator module which, out-of-the-box, allows users to publish their content to any format including PDF, HTML, xHTML and Eclipse. Based on ANT processes from the DITA OT, the Output Generator is very flexible and can be integrated with additional publishing tools (such as Antenna House’s Formatter or RenderX's XEP for PDF rendering) or extended to support other publishing formats (such as CMH, Java Help and .NET).
