Specify a ditaval on an element in a map (branch filtering)

With branch filtering, you can apply a DITAVAL file to a subset of content in a map, which is used when generating an output to filter that subset according to its conditions.

To insert a ditavalref element:

  1. Open the map in the DITA Map view.
  2. Click the DITA Map view’s Menu button. Down arrow
    The view's pull-down menu appears.
  3. Select Show elements.
  4. Lock the map.
  5. Right-click on a valid element in which you want to insert the ditavalref element and click Insert Ditavalref.
  6. In the Ditaval dialog box, click the DITAVAL file that you want to use and click OK.
  7. Release the map.
