Add documents to a map using drop points

You can use specified drop points to add topics and maps to another map.

  • The target map must be locked and open in the DITA Map view.
  • Drop points must be defined in the target map.

Once you have defined the drop points within a map, you can add topics and other maps from any other view.

Document(s) may be added as children or as siblings of the document where a drop point is defined.

  1. Open the map in the DITA Map view.
  2. Right-click the document(s) you want to add to the map and select one of the following:
    • Insert as Child of Drop Point > target_document
    • Insert After Drop Point > target_document
where target_document is a drop point defined within the map.
The document(s) are added to the map at the specified drop point.
