Split element

Use this procedure to split one XML element into two.

You can split one element into two identically tagged elements, without a lot of cut and paste or drag-and-drop. This is an easy way to divide one long paragraph into two.

1. Open your topic in the XMetaL editor.
2. Place your cursor in the XML element, at the point in the text where you want to make the split.
3. Then, do one of the following:
   • Press CTRL+ALT+S.
   • Right-click and select Split Element.
   • From the menu bar, click XML Document > Split Element.

The element splits in two at the cursor.
