Edit a Ditaval file

You can add or remove conditions as needed from any Ditaval file using the Ditaval view.

When you open a Ditaval file in the Edit Ditaval window, all the available conditions and values are displayed. The conditions and values identified with checkmarks are those currently defined in the Ditaval file. Potential issues with the Ditaval file are indicated in red such as:

  • The Ditaval file contains conditions or values that are not defined in the configuration file.
  • The Ditaval file was created based on the conditions and values defined in the configuration file and you selected a subject scheme in the Edit Ditaval dialog box.
  • The Ditaval file was created based on a subject scheme.

You do not need to resolve the items in red. You just need to be sure that the conditions and values identified with checkmarks are the correct ones you need to produce the desired output.

To edit a Ditaval file:

  1. In the Ditaval view, locate the file to update.
If necessary, expand the Ditaval folders. You will see the Ditaval files contained in the folders.
  2. Right-click the Ditaval file to edit and select Edit Ditaval.
    The Edit Ditaval dialog appears.
  3. Change any of the fields or values and click OK.
Conditions and values displayed in red indicate potentially invalid values. Ensure that the selected conditions and values are either defined in the configuration file or in the subject scheme depending on which conditions are required in the output.
