BIRT example two: the BIRT data set part 1

After you’ve connected to the data source in Report Design perspective, you’ll define your data set.

The screenshot below shows the dialog where you select the data columns that you want to use for your report.

You’ll notice that for two of the columns that we’ve selected – Values Count and Document Count – we’ve changed the Type to Integer. By default, all the values generated by the CCMS are returned as strings. We want to do a calculation in our report, so we’ve changed the data type accordingly.
