Start the IXIASOFT CCMS Desktop in debug mode

You may need to start the IXIASOFT CCMS Desktop in debug mode to troubleshoot your installation.

Note: This can be applied within a Hosted environment, but only within a test server.

To start the CCMS Desktop in debug mode:

  1. Find your workspace folder:
    1. In the CCMS Desktop main menu, click Help > About Eclipse SDK
    2. Click Installation Details.
    3. Click the Configuration tab.
    4. Locate -data and copy the path directly following it.
      For example:
      . . .
      -data
      C:\CCMSUsersData\jdoe\workspaces\eclipse-prod
      . . .				
    5. Press the Windows logo key + R to open the Run dialog.
    6. Paste the path into the Open box and click OK.
      The file explorer window opens your workspace folder.
  2. Close the IXIASOFT CCMS.
  3. In your workspace, create a blank text file called debug.txt.
  4. Launch the IXIASOFT CCMS.
    A file named DITA_CMS.log will be created in the CCMS Desktop workspace and you'll have a console window open.
  5. If the log file isn't created, right-click on the Eclipse shortcut and select Properties.
  6. Add -debug to the target so that it looks similar to the following:
    "C:\Eclipses\eclipse3.5.2-win64-cms4.2\eclipse.exe" -debug.
