Actions available when working on content

You have access to some actions for an object while on the editing or preview page for that object (such as Topic Preview or Map Editor).

When you are actively working on a content object, the following actions are possible:

Icon Name Description
Check In button Check in Clicking Check in saves the changes to an object and returns it to the repository, which makes it available to others.
Dependencies icon Dependencies You can click Dependencies to view the dependencies of the object you are viewing or editing.
Edit button Edit Clicking Edit checks out the object from the repository, and opens it in the appropriate editor.
Generate Output icon Generate Output Clicking Generate Output generates the output of a map, which you can view in the My Outputs page.
Move button Move In a Collaborative Review, click Move to say you are done with the Collaborative Review.

In an Approval, click Move to approve or reject the content.

For other objects, clicking Move lets you send the object to the next status in the workflow or assign it to others.

Revert button Revert Clicking Revert checks in an object to the repository without saving changes. You can revert to the last saved version of the object.
View button View In Map Editor, the Structure view changes depending on whether the map is checked out by you.

When it is checked out, you can edit the organization of the topics in the map, but you cannot perform actions on topics, such as editing them.

You can click View to see these actions again in Structure view without needing to check in the map.

Click Edit to return Structure view to where you can edit the map structure.
