Export children intersection

This lets you determine which documents are shared by a given set of maps.

When you are producing a complex set of documents, you may find it desirable to share a certain set of core topics among all the maps. Or you may have a set of icons that should be used by all manuals of a certain type. This utility will tell you if this is actually being done.

  1. Highlight the maps you want to compare.
You can select maps in any view, but all the maps must be in the same view: Search Results view, for example.
  2. Right-click and select Compare With > Export Children Intersection.
The Progress Information dialog tells you that the children lists are being built.
    The Save As dialog appears.
  3. Confirm or change the proposed file name and location.
  4. Click Save.
The report is saved as a TSV (Tab Separated Values) file that can be easily imported into other programs, such as a spreadsheet application.
The image below shows a comparison between two maps. It:
  • Lists the topics and images found in all of them.
  • Indicates which map contains each document.
  • Has an additional column that shows the documents shared by all selected maps.
