Delete shared queries

You can delete the queries that have been shared with you.

You may find that you have many similar queries and want to delete redundant ones. Or you may find that you have duplicate queries, and you want to delete some of them.

Note: When you delete a shared query, you are deleting it for every other person who is sharing it.

To delete a shared query:

  1. In the Queries panel of the Search view, open one of the following folders:
    • Shared
    • Shared Textml
You'll see the Roles and/or Groups folders that contain your shared queries.
  2. Expand the appropriate Roles or Groups folder.
  3. Expand the required rolename or groupname folder.

Under the name of each role or group name, you can see the queries that have already been shared with you in your various roles.

    Share query

For example, in the image there is a query shared with you as an Editor and another as a Project Coordinator.

  4. Right-click a query and select Delete.
    The following message appears:
Your selection contains at least one shared query. Are you sure you want to continue?
  5. Click OK.

The query is removed from that Role or Group in your Shared or Shared Textml folder and for every other user who it has been shared with.
