Importing content into DRM

The IXIASOFT Dynamic Release Management (DRM) provides wizards that let you import files into the TEXTML repository.

You can import the following files:

  • maps
  • topics
  • images

Maps and topics must be valid DITA documents, but the DRM supports image file types such as .png and .jpeg.

When you import a map or topic, the map or topic and its dependencies (for example, the map, topics, and images it refers to) are imported into the repository. If any of the document dependencies cannot be found (for example, one of its topic is missing), the import is canceled and an error message is displayed.

You can import files one at a time, or you can import multiple files. Any document you import is automatically assigned to you and assigned the initial status (for example, Authoring:draft).

Advanced options also let you control how to handle languages and other attributes as well as duplicate documents.

Before importing documents

Before importing content into IXIASOFT CCMS Desktop, make sure that the content is valid DITA. In particular, make sure that:
  • All maps and topics use valid DITA
  • All links and images are valid
