Change statuses of all objects in map

Before you can change the status of a map, you must first advance all the map's child dependencies to the next status. You can quickly find and advance all these child dependencies using a viewpoint.

A viewpoint lets you sort search results and group the results into folders. In this case, you can use a viewpoint to group together all the child dependencies with the same object type and status. This makes it easier for you to change the status of all similar objects at once.

To find and sort child dependencies using a viewpoint:

  1. In the Search Results view, create a viewpoint.
    1. Click the Manage Viewpoints ellipses.
    2. On the Manage Viewpoints dialog, click + to create a new viewpoint.
    3. In Name, give the new viewpoint a name.
    4. In the Available Fields section, select Type and click the arrow pointing right.
Type now appears in the Grouping Columns section.
    5. Select Status, and click the arrow pointing right.
    6. Click OK.
  2. In the Select Viewpoint drop-down list, select the new viewpoint.
  3. Find the map with the status you want to change.
  4. Right-click the map and select Change Status.
  5. Change the map to the status you want.
You receive an error message saying that the map cannot be changed because child dependencies are in the wrong status.
  6. Click Locate.
  7. In the Search Results view, expand the folders to see the objects that need their status changed.
All the objects are organized by object type and status.
  8. Hold Shift and click to select all objects with the same type and status.
  9. Right-click and select Change Status to change their status as a group.
Once all the child dependencies have the correct status, you can then change the status of the map.
