Securing communications using SSL

You can use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol to provide secure communications between the IXIASOFT TEXTML Server and the IXIASOFT CCMS components.

To secure connections using SSL, you:
  1. Obtain a signed certificate. Two options are available for obtaining a signed certificate: Using a commercial root certificate authority (CA) such as Comodo, DigiCert, etc., or being your own CA. This document covers both options.
  2. Configure the TEXTML Server to use the certificate.
  3. Configure the components to use SSL.

Multiple methods are available to secure communications using SSL. The procedures in this section use OpenSSL to illustrate this process, but you can use any other SSL toolkit.

Using SSL and Kerberos

If you are using SSL security, you do not need to configure Kerberos authentication.
