Libraries

  • The majority of your content should be in a library that is referenced by a product instead of directly in a product. A product is just an aggregator, a specialized library at the top level.
  • Don't create bidirectional links across libraries.
  • Linking is always top down. For example, a level 2 library can't reference a level 1 library but a level 1 library can reference a level 2 library.
  • Use the Library Dependency Editor to update the library version used by a product or by another library.
  • Multi-level libraries allow you to break your content into smaller sections. For example,
    • Top level: content unique to a specific product
    • Second level: content shared between specific products
    • Third level: content shared between all products
