Complete the upgrade to IXIASOFT TEXTML Server 4.4 on Windows

Once the docbase is installed in IXIASOFT TEXTML Server 4.4, it can be started as the production server and TEXTML Server version 4.3 can be removed.

To complete the upgrade:

  1. Stop both TEXTML Server 4.3 and TEXTML Server 4.4 services.
  2. Configure the correct port number for TEXTML Server 4.4. To change the port number, do the following:
    1. Open the TextmlServerCfg.xml file from each version in a text editor.
      For example, open:
      • C:\ProgramData\IxiaSoft\TextmlServer43\TextmlServerCfg.xml and C:\ProgramData\IxiaSoft\TextmlServer44\TextmlServerCfg.xml.
    2. In the version 4.4 of the TextmlServerCfg.xml file, locate the Endpoint parameter and replace the value with port number 2500.
    3. In the version 4.3 of the TextmlServerCfg.xml file, locate the Endpoint parameter and replace the value with a temporary port number.
      Important: Do NOT use port number 2500.
    4. Save both files.
  3. Start the TEXTML Server 4.4 service.
  4. Verify the logs to see if TEXTML Server 4.4 started correctly.

    Open the textml_log.txt file in C:\ProgramData\IxiaSoft\TextmlServer44\Log\ and check for error messages.

  5. Disable TEXTML Server 4.3. Select Control Panel > Administrative Tools Services, right-click the TEXTML Server 4.3 instance, and click Properties. On the General tab, select Disable in the Startup Type list.
  6. Uninstall TEXTML Server version 4.3.
