Fork an image

Images can be in more than one Branch. If you need to edit an image that is in more than one Branch, you must fork the image.

You only need to pick a Branch and fork it in the following scenarios:

  • You are editing it outside of Map Editor
  • It is not assigned to you

To fork and edit an image:

  1. Click Fork or Fork icon.

    One of the following appears:

    • If you can edit the image in only one Branch, a message appears saying which Branch the image will automatically fork in.

Click Fork & Edit to fork it and check it out.

    • If you could edit the image in one of several Branches, the Fork & Edit dialog appears so you can pick a Branch.

      Follow the steps below.

  2. Select the Branch you want to edit in.
The Branches are sorted by Branch type.
  3. Click Fork & Edit.

A new instance of the image is created in the Branch you selected. Any changes you make will appear in that image for only that Branch.
