Create a map with stub topics

There are situations where you know topics will be required within a map but do not yet know what they will be called. In this case, you can create a map with empty topics, known as stub topics.

You can create a map with topic stubs only if your deployment of IXIASOFT CCMS Web has a template for it. Contact your administrator if you want this template added to the default configuration.

You cannot insert topic stubs in existing maps.

To create a map with stub topics:

  1. Click Main Menu icon, and select New Object > New Map.
    The New Map page opens.
  2. In the Title field, enter a descriptive name for the new map and click Next.
  3. From the drop-down list, select a language and click Next.
  4. For the template, choose map with topic stubs.
  5. Click Create.
The new map appears in Map Editor, with a grayed-out topic.
  6. If you are not in Structure view, click Structure to switch to it.
  7. For the topic, click the Actions menu and select Generate.
    A dialog appears.
  8. Click Generate.

You can rename this stub topic and add content to it. You can also add more topics to the map.
