Creating a map with stub topics

There are situations where you know topics will be required within a map but do not yet know what they will be called. In this case, create a map with empty topics, known as "stubs".

  1. From the Hamburger menu (), select New Map.
  2. Create a name for the map and select a language for it when prompted.
  3. In the Choose a template field, select an appropriate template. Click Next.
  4. If you are using DRM, select the appropriate product or library, and then the branch for your map. When done, click Create.
  5. A greyed-out topic appears in the map view. Click Actions, and the Generate option appears. Click this option.
The Generate topic from stub dialog appears.
  6. Click Generate to create an empty, stub topic.
Later, you can rename this topic and add content to it.
