How SSO affects user logins in a dedicated SaaS deployment

If Single Sign-On (SSO) is implemented in a dedicated SaaS deployment of IXIASOFT CCMS, logging into your company's identity provider automatically logs you in to CCMS Web.

How you log in to IXIASOFT CCMS

When SSO is implemented in IXIASOFT CCMS, when you go to the URL for CCMS Web:

  • If you are already logged in to your company's identity provider, you are automatically logged in to CCMS Web and see the My Assignments page.
  • If you are not logged in to your company's identity provider, you can click a button that enables you to log in to CCMS Web using your company's identity provider.

Without SSO, when you go to the URL for CCMS Web, you log in using your IXIASOFT-specific password.

Regardless of whether SSO is implemented, when you use remote desktop to log in to CCMS Desktop, you always use your IXIASOFT-specific password.

Credential management

When SSO is implemented in IXIASOFT CCMS:
  • Credentials for CCMS Web are managed by your company's identity provider.
  • Credentials for CCMS Desktop are managed by IXIASOFT CCMS in remote desktop.
  • Users of CCMS Desktop must manage two passwords—the password managed in remote desktop for CCMS Desktop and the password managed by your company's identity provider, which you use to log in to CCMS Web .

Without SSO, all credentials for CCMS Web and CCMS Desktop are managed by IXIASOFT in remote desktop.

Regardless of whether SSO is implemented, all users must be added to the users.xml file in IXIASOFT CCMS.
