Why does a .metadata error appear when trying to launch the IXIASOFT CCMS Desktop?

This can be resolved by removing some corrupted files.

Description

When starting IXIASOFT CCMS, a dialog box appears saying An error has occurred. See the <workspace>/.metadata/.log file. This indicates that your workspace has been corrupted.

Solution

  1. Close IXIASOFT CCMS.
  2. Delete the .metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.e4.workbench\workbench.xmi file from the workspace.
  3. Start IXIASOFT CCMS.

To prevent this issue, IXIASOFT recommends closing all open topics before exiting.
