Bulk actions in CCMS Web

When you select an object in IXIASOFT CCMS Web, it is added to the Bulk Actions basket, which saves all your selections. You can then take an action on all the eligible objects in your basket at the same time.

Selecting objects

Every object in CCMS Web has a checkbox near its title.

When the object appears in a list (such as on the My Assignments page, Favorites side panel, or Search), the checkbox is still near the title.

Clicking the checkbox anywhere it appears adds the object to your Bulk Actions basket.

Bulk Actions Ribbon

When you select an object, the Bulk Actions basket appears as a ribbon at the bottom of your screen.

You can pick an action to run on the objects from the ribbon. You can also click on the ribbon to expand the Bulk Actions basket and see the full basket.

Bulk Actions Basket

The Bulk Actions basket shows all the objects you have selected and information about each object. The information appears in a Dynamic Grid, which is configurable.

You can also take actions on individual objects in your basket.

Bulk actions

You can select actions on the ribbon or basket to take that action on all the objects in your Bulk Actions basket. You can take actions like the following:

  • Checking in all the objects
  • Changing all the objects to the same status

Sometimes the action can not be performed on all the objects in your basket. In these cases, CCMS Web processes as many objects as it can and skips the rest.

You can see the number of objects that can be processed in the ribbon and basket, and the State column in the Bulk Actions basket shows if an object will be processed or skipped.

Dependencies during a bulk action

When you use a bulk action, only objects in the basket are processed. Any dependencies of these objects are not processed, so some dependencies might prevent the action from completing for some objects.

For example, if you move a map in your basket to Done status, the topics in the map do not change to Done status. This prevents the map from changing to Done status because the topics need to change status first.

Note: In this case, move the objects in your basket one at a time. All the dependencies of the map are automatically moved when it is moved individually.

Issues with actions on multiple objects

The ribbon turns green if all the objects were processed, excluding the ones that were skipped. If CCMS Web could not process all the objects, the ribbon turns red.

To see why an object was not processed, click the ribbon to expand it. The objects that were not processed have a red X. The message below the object explains why the action could not be taken.
