Display a document's custom properties

Custom properties are metadata that may optionally be defined, in addition to regular document properties. You can define, manage, index, and retrieve custom properties to meet the particular needs of your company.

Examples of custom properties might include workflow status, dates of revision, and author name.

To display custom properties for a document:

  1. Open the Administration Console and connect to the server and to the docbase.
  2. Expand the docbase to display its documents.
  3. Right-click a document and select Open Custom Properties.
The custom properties data for the selected document opens in your editor:

Note: If you get an error: "No custom properties found for document filepath/name", no custom properties were defined for the document you selected. You can create custom properties through the IXIASOFT CCMS Desktop, or any other application that supports them.
