About Topic Editor

Topic Editor allows you to make changes to the contents of a topic.

Each of the areas within Topic Editor have distinct functions. The following are some of the things you can do in Topic Editor:

  • Understand the context of the content you are working on
  • Get information on the object you are working on
  • Edit and add to your content
  • Check in your work once you are done

Topic Editor integrates Oxygen Web Author, which is a web-based editor, with IXIASOFT CCMS Web.

Note: Topics all have a context map, which is used for resolving keys. Before editing a topic in Topic Editor, check it has a context map. Without a context map, important content could be missing from the topic.

Topic Editor
Number Name Description
1 Navigation area Use it to return to the My Assignments page, go to other functions (depending on your role), access help, or sign out.
2 Oxygen Web Author toolbar Common editing features and functions to help you work with content.
3 Breadcrumb path Displays the hierarchical context for the topic you are currently viewing.
4 Action buttons A set of buttons with all the allowed actions for the topic.
5 Side Panel Different panels appear here according to context.

You can click on any of the panels to expand or collapse them.

  • Details panel: Shows additional information on the topic such as status, assignees, and last modified date.
  • Attributes panel: Shows the attributes and values for elements.
  • Review panel: Displays all the comments in the topic.
  • Validation panel: Shows if the document is valid or has errors, such as in resolving keywords.
6 Main Editing area Where you add and edit content.
7 Oxygen Web Author Depicting cursor placement Displays where your cursor is in relation to the structured content hierarchy.
8 Checked out notice When you check out a topic, you receive a temporary notification at the bottom of the Topic Editor.
