Delete a user

You can delete users when they have left the organization or who no longer require access to the IXIASOFT CCMS.

If a user has left your team, IXIASOFT recommends that your first make their account inactive, and then delete the account after a few days. In between that time, remove any locked content objects (i.e. maps, topics and images).

  1. Open the User Manager window.
Note: Do not edit users.xml directly in the TEXTML Administration perspective. The User Manager window has built-in mechanisms to prevent errors.
  2. Click Lock (lock manager icon).
  3. In the Users list, expand the required location node to show its users.
  4. Locate the individual's user account.
  5. Clear the Active checkbox. Save and then Check In Document.
At this point, it is recommended that all assignments be removed for the user, and any locked content objects from that user be broken. For more information on the latter process, see "How can I break the lock on documents that are locked by a writer?" in the FAQ for IXIASOFT CCMS Administrators.

Wait a few days for the internal changes to propagate. Then proceed to delete the user from the Users List:

  6. Repeat steps 1-4.
  7. Right-click the user to delete and select Delete User.
The selected user and all associated information are removed.
  8. Click Check In Document (check in manager icon).
Your changes to users.xml are updated in the repository.
  9. In a dedicated SaaS deployment, contact IXIASOFT Customer Support to remove the user from remote desktop.
If your deployment uses SSO and the user did not access CCMS Desktop, you can skip this step.
