Fork an image

If some Branches are unavailable for you, you must fork the image and create a new instance. The changes you make will only appear in the Branches you select.

To see if you must fork the image, look for the Fork icon (Fork icon).

Note: Images do not have context maps, so you never need to select one.

To fork an image:

  1. For the image, click Fork icon.

The Fork & Edit dialog appears. It shows all the available Branches in which you can create the new instance of the image.

  2. (Optional): Select or deselect Branches.

The new instance is created in the Branches you select.

Note: You cannot select all Branches if the image is in Done status (or the equivalent final status in your deployment). You must deselect at least one Branch to fork the image in the remaining Branches. Or you can cancel the fork and then move the image to Work status first before editing it in all Branches.
  3. Click Fork & Edit.

A new instance of the image is created and opens in Image Editor. Any changes you make appear only in that image for those Branches.
