User management via Active Directory

Access can be managed by using a central directory of users such as Microsoft Active Directory.

The authentication and authorization is done by the operating system through account validation and group membership.

• When installed on Windows, TEXTML Server uses the built-in Windows mechanisms to resolve and contact Active Directory.
• When installed on Linux, TEXTML Server uses the PAM mechanisms to resolve and contact the central directory. You can also configure your Linux server to use a connector to a Microsoft Active Directory.

User roles for the CCMS are maintained in the users.xml file in the docbase.
